STOP THE HATE!
This year, our world has been consumed with news of a global pandemic, calls for racial justice, and a deep sense of division and hostility. As if historically inseparable, tumultuous times like these always seem to usher in a rise of antisemitism. Some exploit the opportunity to push a hateful agenda, while others desperately seek out the comfort of a scapegoat.
A recent survey revealed that nearly 9 in 10 American Jews think that antisemitism in the U.S. is a problem, and 8 in 10 feel that it’s getting worse. But when asked, shockingly, most non-Jews don’t think Jew hatred is rising at all. In fact, nearly half aren’t even sure what constitutes antisemitism, so they either downplay its prevalence or worse, find irrational justifications for it.
The world doesn’t see what Voices for Truth and Humanity sees. Jews targeted just for being Jewish, whether on the streets of Brooklyn or on college campuses. It’s up to us to Educate to Stop Hate!
This is the mission of Voices. It’s the core of what we do. Our efforts are focused on making sure the lessons of the past, the propaganda that allowed the Holocaust to occur, and the atrocities that resulted, once again become an integral part of K-12 education.
We are guided by a frightening, yet powerful truth. The path to human atrocity begins with the dehumanization of the victim. Throughout history, the strategy has always been the same. First you delegitimize, then you dehumanize, then you destroy, and by then, no one will care.
Voices for Truth and Humanity is an all volunteer organization. We have no salaried employees. Every dollar donated is spent on educating and fighting hate. We spend what we have on hand because there is no time like the present.
With thoughts of a better world,
